Savard named to National Team of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio—Defiance College’s Meghann Savard was named to D3hoops.com’s National Team of the Week for her performance in the Hubbard/ Pro-Rehab Classic this past weekend.

Savard averaged 32 points and 16 rebounds in two wins and was named the MVP of the Hubbard Co./ Pro-Rehab Classic. In a 101-96 overtime win over Berea, she posted a game-high 33 points and 23 rebounds. She was 12-of-18 from the field and 9-of-12 from the free throw line with two blocked shots. For the tournament, she shot 20-for-29 from the field (69%) and 24-for-30 from the free throw line (80%). Savard was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week for her efforts.

The Lady Jackets return to action next week, hosting Adrian on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and Tri-State on Saturday, December 31, at 3:00 p.m.
