Women's Golf Competes at Manchester Invite

WABASH, Ind. – The Defiance College Women’s Golf team finally made its official return to the links after having its first two scheduled events of 2006 cancelled. The Lady Jackets sent two players to the Manchester College Fall Invite for a single-round competition on Saturday.

Tracy Sauter and Brooke Lancey represented Defiance in the tournament and posted scores of 122 and 152.

Manchester won the event by two strokes over Otterbein with Anderson taking third. Transylvania and Rose-Hulman rounded out the team standings.

Manchester’s Stacy Goins won the individual title by shooting 85 while Otterbein’s Katie Johnson (87) and Anderson’s Chrissy Helms (88) took second and third place.

Defiance will compete in the HCAC Championships this Friday and Saturday in Warsaw, Ind.
