MARSHALL, Mich. – Defiance College sent a trio of women’s golfers to compete in the two-round Olivet Fall Invitational on September 21 and 22. While the Jackets did not record a team score, the group did shave 16 strokes off its second-day total as a continued sign of improvement for the young program.

Tracy Sauter shot a 220 over the two-day event to lead DC and improved by eight strokes during her second round. Kelci Wunderlich also represented Defiance and carded a 247, while Amber Kaufman improved by 13 strokes on day two en route to a 309 total.

Ferris State cruised to the team championship with a 614 and took the top four spots on the individual scoreboard with Raquel Hansen leading the way with a 152.

Olivet ended 48 shots back of Ferris State to place second and Tri-State (687), North Central (724), Hope and Albion (t-746) rounded out the top five.

The Lady Jackets will hit the links once again on Monday when they host the Defiance Invitational on Monday. The single-round event will be held at Kettenring Country Club and begin at 1:00 pm.
