DC Women’s Soccer unbeaten in HCAC with win at AU

ANDERSON, Ind.—The Defiance College women’s soccer team improved to 3-0 in the Heartland Conference with a 3-0 win at Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon.

Michelle Kavanagh continued her stellar offensive play with two second-half goals. Deirdre Trujillo assisted Kavanagh’s second score and Nicole Carter’s late-game goal. Kaitlin Monberg led DC in shots on goal with seven, while Sarah Sutter earned her second-straight shut out, stopping seven Raven shots.

The Jackets out shot AU 16-7 and had six corner kicks compared to four by Anderson.

The Yellow Jackets are now 5-6-1 on the season and will travel to Transylvania University on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. match-up with the Pioneers, who are 6-5-1 on the year and 1-1 in the HCAC.
