DC Women's Soccer ties in first game of the season

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The DC women’s soccer team played to a stalemate against Dominican University as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Neither team gave any ground offensively, as defense was key in limiting good shot opportunities. Both teams allowed only four shots on goal apiece, although Dominican outshot the Jackets 10-7. Stacey Bosserman made four saves in her first collegiate soccer game. Bosserman made a clutch save in the ninth minute of the second overtime period on a shot by Anna Rudel of Dominican that would have wound up being the golden goal of the match.

Defiance (0-0-1) looks for its first win of the season on Monday as the team takes on Rochester College at 2:30 p.m.
