DC Women's Soccer gains HCAC win

FRANKLIN, Ind. — he Defiance College Women's Soccer team earned another HCAC victory, this time over Franklin College by the score 5-1.

Senior Deirdre Trujillo had a natural hat trick for the Yellow Jackets after scoring the first three goals for DC. Trujillo scored the first goal in the first half to give DC a 1-0 lead. Her third and final goal came on a penalty kick. Freshman Hannah Jones also multiple scores in the game, as she had the final two goals of the game for Defiance. Jones assisted on Trujillo's first goal, while Kaitlin Monberg assisted on Jones' first goal. Hannah Davis also had an assist in the game, contributing to Trujillo's second goal.

Lauren Ranalli, making her second start of the season as goalkeeper, earned her first victory, making seven saves in the winning effort.

Defiance (5-9-1, 2-3-0 HCAC) will travel to take on Lake Erie College Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
