Lady Jackets win in overtime

--DEFIANCE, Ohio—The DC Lady Jacket soccer squad shut out Hanover College, 1-0, in overtime on Saturday afternoon.

Michelle Kavanagh scored the lone Jacket goal unassisted off of a rebound on an empty net goal. , DC proved to be the more aggressive team on offense, as the Jackets had 17 shots-on-goal, compared to Hanover's four. Deirdre Trujillo and Kaitlin Monberg put five shots on goal, while Sarah Plas, Rachel Moore, and Katie Klear each added a shot on goal. Kavanagh ended the day 1-for-4 in shots on goal.

Sarah Sutter played 92 minutes and 55 seconds in goal, saving four shots on goal. The win marks Sutter's first shutout of the season.

The Lady Jackets remains tied for first place in the HCAC with the win, moving to 2-0-0 in the conference and 4-6-1 overall on the season. DC travels to Indiana on Wednesday to face Anderson College.
