Trujillo, Kavanagh and Moore named All-HCAC

DEFIANCE, Ohio—Defiance College’s Deirdre Trujillo, Michelle Kavanagh, and Rachel Moore have been named to the 2005 All-Heartland Conference team in women’s soccer.

Trujillo (Barnegat, New Jersey- Southern Regional) and Kavanagh (Williamston, Mich.- Williamston) were both named to the first team while Moore (Oregon, Ohio- Clay) was named to the second team. Trujillo, a midfielder, and Kavanagh, a forward, each had nine goals on the season with six and three assists, respectively.

Moore was a defensive stopper at her back position and also scored one goal and had an assist.

The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a 7-10-1 record overall and a 4-3 record in the HCAC, advancing to the conference tournament before falling to eventual champion Mount St. Joseph.
