Lady Jackets fall to Heidelberg in extra time

DEFIANCE, Ohio ¬– Defiance College fell to Heidelberg College as Kelly Mueller scored an unassisted goal with under three minutes to go in the second overtime period to give Heidelberg College a 4-3 win.

Tiffany Chudzinski scored a pair of goals for Defiance, while also adding an assist. Katie Klear scored the other Lady Jacket goal and was also credited with an assist. Rachel Moore and Deirdre Trujillo both added assists as well.

Sarah Sutter saved 11 shots for Defiance. Heidelberg outshot Defiance 24-22 for the game, including 6-1 in the second overtime period.

Ivy Thompson scored for Heidelberg with just over two minutes left to tie up the score and send the game into extra time. Kasey Hill converted the first two Heidelberg goals. The ‘Berg committed six fouls to Defiance’s seven.

Heidelberg moves to 2-4-1 with the victory, while Defiance falls to 2-4-1. Defiance returns to action Saturday at 1:00 when they host Baldwin Wallace.
