DC Women’s Soccer falls in overtime

N. MANCHESTER, Ind.-- The Defiance College women’s soccer team lost at Manchester College, 0-1 in the first extra period on Tuesday afternoon.

Sarah Sutter had 13 saves in goal for a Jacket team that managed six shots on goal. Defiance had three corner kicks to MC’s five and four direct kicks to the Spartans’ six. Both teams were called for one offsides.

Laurie Gribschaw scored the game’s lone goal for the 11-3-2 (4-1 HCAC) Spartans. Deirdre Trujillo led the Jackets with two shots on goal.

The DC Jackets are now 5-8-1 overall and 3-2 in the Heartland Conference. They will next host Franklin College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
