September 4 Lady Jacket soccer outdone by #7 Bishops DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Defiance College women’s soccer team fell 0-5 to the #7 nationally-ranked Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan. Katie Klear got off three shots, while Sarah Sutter stopped 10 OWU shots, including a penalty kick and a late breakaway. The Bishops outshot DC 19-3. Defiance committed 12 fouls to OWU’s 10. Wesleyan’s goals were scored by Michelle Corbett, Hillary Hughes and Callie Wulf in the first half, and Megan Quinn and Lindsey Macklin in the second period. The Lady Jackets are now 0-3-1 overall and will next host Adrian College on Thursday. The Lady Bulldogs are 0-4 and will host Calvin College tomorrow before making the trip to Defiance.
