LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Defiance College Lady Jackets fell to 0-3 in the HCAC with a 7-1 loss to Transylvania University on Saturday, October 6. The loss drops DC to 3-8 overall on the season.

The Pioneers scored early and often rolling to a 4-0 lead by the break. They would tack on three more goals in the second half for a 7-0 lead before Defiance’s Cherilyn Borkholder put the Jackets in the scoring column with a goal from the left side of the box.

Borkholder led DC with 2 shots, while Lauren Ranalli and Melissa Alston each added shots for Defiance who was outshot 25-4 over the course of the game. Keeper Andrea Galbraith collected five saves for the Jackets.

Defiance will return to action on Wednesday, October 10, when it plays host to the Thunder of Tri-State University. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
