DC Women’s Soccer cannot snap Transy’s unbeaten streak

DEFIANCE, Ohio The Defiance College Women’s Soccer team took on a formidable Transylvania University opponent, playing hard before falling to the Pioneers 3-0.
DC played a tough Pioneer team that entered the contest 9-0-0 on the season. The Jackets came out resilient in the first half, holding Transy scoreless in the period. Freshman Lauren Ranalli, making her first appearance as the keeper for DC, made 10 saves in the first half alone. In the second half, the defensive stalemate between the two teams finally gave way when Haydon Warren score in the 53rd minute to give Transy the lead. The Pioneers would wind up scoring twice more in the period en route to the victory.
Deirdre Trujillo took six shots for DC, two of which on goal. Stacey Bosserman, playing in the field for the first time this season, fired her first shot of the year. Ranalli made 12 saves on the day for the Jackets.
Defiance (4-9-1, 1-3-0 HCAC) will have the rest of the week off, as the Jackets will play next Saturday at Franklin. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
