ANGOLA, Ind. – The Defiance College Women’s Soccer team got on the winning track with a win against Tri-State University by the score 3-2.

Senior Deirdre Trujillo proved to be the main offensive threat, scoring two goals in the game, making it the second straight game that the Yellow Jackets had a player that scored two goals. In Monday’s game against Rochester, freshman Hannah Jones also had two goals. Trujillo scored the first goal in the 21st minute unassisted to put DC up 1-0. Tri-State would score two unanswered goals in the 30th and 43rd minutes by Jackie Havenaar and Megan DeWolf, respectively to take a one goal lead into the second half.

Trujillo would answer for the Yellow Jackets in the 52nd minute with her second score of the game to knot the game at two. Then in the 68th minute, Hannah Jones put the game-winner in the back of the net, as DC took the 3-2 lead and never looked back.

Stacey Bosserman made nine saves in the win.

Defiance (1-1-1) has the remainder of the week off, hosting Ohio Northern University next Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
