Pioneers stop DC Women’s Soccer

Lexington, Ky.- The Defiance College women’s soccer team got its first conference loss of the 2005 season in a 0-2 defeat at Transylvania University on Saturday afternoon.

The Jackets managed four shots on goal while Transylvania took the game on first-half goals by Brittany MacGregor and Julie Anderson and put 11 shots on goal. DC’s Sarah Sutter stopped two shots in the loss.

The teams each had six corner kicks, while Defiance had six fouls to TU’s five.

The Defiance women’s squad is now 5-7-1 on the season and 3-1-0 in the Heartland Conference. The Jackets will next travel to Manchester College on Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. kick off.
