Meyer and Auzins named to All-HCAC Women's Tennis Team
--DEFIANCE, OhioDefiance College’s Emily Meyer and Amanda Auzins have been named to the All-Heartland Conference squad for their performance during the 2005 season.
Meyer, a native of Napoleon, finished in second place in #1 singles in the Heartland Conference Tournament. She posted double digits in victories for #1 singles and #1 doubles matches, going 11-5 in singles and 10-2 in doubles. Meyer ended the season with an overall record of 23-9 and a conference record of 14-6.
Auzins, also from Napoleon, took home fifth place in the HCAC Tournament, finishing the regular season with an overall record of 16-16. Twelve of those wins came in #1 doubles.
Meyer and Auzins also teamed up in #1 doubles 12 times during the season, compiling a 10-2 overall record while going 6-2 in HCAC play. The two placed fourth in the conference tournament.
The Lady Jackets ended the year with a 5-8 record overall and a 3-4 mark in the Heartland Conference.
