DC Tennis narrowly defeated by Beavers

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Defiance College women’s tennis team lost 4-5 to Bluffton University on Tuesday night at the Dix Tennis Facility.

Emily Meyer improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Heartland Conference with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lisa Cherry at #1 singles. Meyer teamed with Amanda Auzins at #1 doubles to defeat Cherry and Kara Schrock at #1 doubles. Erin Wendt won at #5 singles, 6-3, 6-1 over Brittany Zeigler to move to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC.

Jessica Gullette also earned a win at #6 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Stephanie Welch.

The Lady Jackets are now 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the HCAC. They will next host Manchester and Hanover on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
