Lady Jacket Tennis gets road win

FINDLAY, Ohio—The Defiance College women’s tennis squad improved to 2-1 on the season with a 6-3 win at the University of Findlay on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Jackets gained crucial momentum from a 9-8 (7-4) #2 doubles win by Emily Meyer and Vanessa Vandetta, and went on to win 2-of-3 doubles matches. Traci Dye clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win at #5 singles over Elizabeth Watson. Meyer later won her third-straight #1 singles match when she downed Teela Rader 6-2, 6-4.

Casie Burkhart and Jessica Gullette earned a win at #3 doubles, 8-4, while Amanda Auzins defeated Pam Bullock, 6-3, 6-0, at #3 singles. Erin Wendt got her first win of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Mallory Garvin.

The Lady Jackets will travel to Tiffin University on Thursday to face the Dragons at 3:30 p.m.
