DC Women’s Tennis wins second of the year

-DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College Women’s Tennis team picks up win number two on the season with a victory against a Division II opponent, the University of Findlay.

Emily Meyer kept her perfect season intact with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 win in #1 singles against Devin Games and an 8-4 win in #2 doubles with Amanda Auzins over Games and Liz Blosser. Auzins also picked up a victory in #2 singles against Blosser, winning 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

The match ended in dramatic fashion, as Defiance trailed Findlay 2-4 entering the final three singles matches. DC won the first match 6-2, 6-4 with Vanessa Vendetta's picking up her first collegiate win at a singles position, this one at #3. Auzins’s #2 win came in a tightly contested three-set match. In the final match of the day, Meyer sealed the victory for DC with the win after being down 2 match points.

Defiance (2-1, 1-1 HCAC) travels to Bluffton on Saturday to play two HCAC contests; taking on newcomer Rose-Hulman at 11:00 am and Bluffton at 2:30 pm.
