Jacket Tennis Splits with Franklin and the Mount
--Defiance, Ohio—The DC women’s tennis team got off to a good start with a Saturday split, defeating Mount St. Joseph before falling to Franklin.
Erin Williams and Sarah Shuff earned the lone Jacket win versus the Grizzlies, 8-5 at #3 doubles. Against the Lions, Defiance was swept in doubles but then took all all but one of the singles match-ups.
Kylee VonDeylen (#1 singles), a senior co-captain, defeated Stephanie Kiehl 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, while at #2 sinlges, Abby Reichard went 6-4, 6-3 to beat Julie Fisher. Amber Evans and Kacy VanderHorst won at #3

and #4 singles, while Shuff picked up a win at #6 with a 3-6, 6-1 (10-7) win over Tessa Diersing.
The Lady Jackets, 1-1 on the year, will next Findlay on Tuesday starting at 3:30 p.m.
