Emily Meyer named HCAC Player of the Week

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Defiance College ’s Emily Meyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) finished the weekend a perfect 4-0 with two wins apiece in No. 1 singles and doubles.

The sophomore won all four of her matches in the triangular meet with Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. Meyer knocked off Julie Gering 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed up with Amanda Auzins to beat Gering and Laura Robison in doubles play, giving the Jackets a 9-0 win over MSJ.

Against Franklin, Meyer earned two of Defiance’s three flight victories with a 6-4, 6-2 singles win over Emily Ruch. Adding a 9-7 doubles win with teammate Amanda Auzins over Ruch and Caity Conoley.

The Jackets stand 1-1 overall and 1-1 in HCAC action this season.
