Women’s Tennis wins final match of the regular season

DEFIANCE, Ohio The Defiance College Women’s Tennis team gained some momentum going into the HCAC Tournament with a 6-3 win over Heidelberg College Monday afternoon.
Emily Meyer picked up wins in #1 singles and doubles, beating Megan Michaels in singles 6-0, 6-0, then teamed up with Amanda Auzins to defeat Michaels and Morgan Harrigan 8-3. Jessica Gullette and Casie Burkhart earned another #3 doubles win, this time against Calli Johnson and Calani Friend by the score 8-0.
Gullette, Laurel Smith, Natalie Carey, each had singles wins in the match, as Gullette defeated Dawn Neumeyer in #6 singles 6-0, 6-0. Carey earned the #5 singles win against Johnson 6-0, 6-1, while Smith beat Neumeyer in #4 singles 6-3, 6-1.
Defiance (5-9, 2-6 HCAC) will head to Hanover, Indiana to take part in the HCAC Tournament Friday. Seedings have yet to be determined.
