Lady Jackets Drop HCAC Matches to MSJ and Franklin

DEFIANCE, Ohio —The DC Women’s Tennis Team dropped two conference matchups to Mount St. Joseph and Franklin, 6-3 and 7-2, to fall to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in HCAC play.

Emily Meyer and Amanda Auzins continued their stellar play at first doubles, winning 8-5 over MSJ and defeating Franklin 8-2.. The two have won their last three matches. Meyer finished the day undefeated winning both singles matches as well. The Napoleon native knocked off Mt. St. Joe’s Laura Robinson (6-0, 6-0), and Franklin’s Morgan Bright (6-2, 6-3). Auzins was the only other Lady Jacket to pick up a victory in singles action as she defeated Judy Frey (MSJ) 6-2, 6-2 at second singles.

Defiance (0-6) will travel to Huntington, Ind. to face the Foresters of Huntington University on Wednesday, September 12. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
