DC Picks Up First Win of Season Versus Bluffton

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Women’s Tennis picked up its first victory of the season with a 7-2 win over Bluffton University. The women’s team improved their record to 1-9 overall and 1-4 in HCAC play.

Emily Meyer, Amanda Auzins, Cindy Toth, and Brittany Martin all won in straight sets for DC, while Laurel Smith rebounded from an opening set defeat to take the final two sets and the victory 6-2, 7-5. The doubles pairs of Meyer/Auzins and Smith/Toth won 8-2 and 8-3 respectively.

The Lady Jackets return to action on Wednesday, September 19, when they host Goshen College. The match is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
