Lady Jackets get first-ever win over Pioneers

--Lexington, Ky.—The DC women’s tennis team split Saturday matches at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.

In the first match, DC got its first-ever win over Transylvania, the Lady Jackete topped the Pioneers 6-3. Kylee VonDeylen and Kacy VanderHorst won at #1 doubles 8-4, while Erin Williams and Traci Dye got the win at #3 doubles, 8-4.

In singles action against Transy, Abby Rechard won at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-7 (6), 10-8, over Ashley Lowe. VonDeylen won at #3 singles, 6-1 7-6 over April Young. Amber Evans and Erin Williams both won a #4 and #6 singles, respectively.

DC is now 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the HCAC. The Lady Jackets travel to St. Joseph’s College on Tuesday for a three-way match including IUPU Ft. Wayne.
