October 28, 2015

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College Community Band will be performing a tribute to veterans on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 pm at the Defiance Community Auditorium. The concert will highlight and honor our veterans with a variety of patriotic selections.

Co-conductors Cathy Booth and Scott Rogers will round out the program with songs that capture our nation’s rich musical heritage, including some of John Philip Sousa’s great marches and a chilling homage to the lives lost during the attack on Pearl Harbor. The program will also feature a tribute to the great American jazz musician, Benny Goodman. There will be a special medley with guests from the Defiance Office of Veterans Affairs, showcasing the five military branches.

The concert will include the “voice” of the Defiance College Community Band, Mr. Jamie Blank, and the patriotic march “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” Come to the event and help celebrate America and honor the men and women who made our freedom possible.

The concert is free and open to the public. More information on Defiance College Music Programs can be found at www.defiance.edu/music.
