Defiance College to present “Sounds of the Season” in Defiance and Bryan

The DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Chamber Singers and Black Swamp Symphony Orchestra will put on a “Sounds of the Season” concert Friday, Dec. 4, at the Defiance Church of God at 7 p.m., with a repeat performance on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Wesley United Methodist in Bryan at 7 p.m.

The program will feature favorites of the holiday season such as “Sleigh Ride,” selections from “The Nutcracker” ballet, and ending with “Silent Night.”

Both events are free and open to the public, with a free will donation.

The Defiance College Chamber Singers is an auditioned choir of 40 students led by Director of Music Programs Andrew Schultz. The ensemble will be performing new arrangements by composer Dan Forrest of holiday favorites including “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “The First Noel.” Also included will be selections from DCCS’s recent tour to Nashville, TN.

The Black Swamp Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Bridget Olenik, is a full orchestra comprised of DC students and members of the greater Defiance community.
