Defiance College Community Band to present 8th annual cabaret concert

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College Community Band will host the 8th annual cabaret concert on Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held in the Weaner Center Gymnasium on the Defiance College campus with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. All seats are reserved.

Featured vocalists for the program are Steven and Kristin Wendell.

Steven is a 2002 graduate of Defiance High School where he was active in the music program. After high school, he continued performing in operas, musicals, and choirs. Steven can be seen performing with the Fort Defiance Players and the Defiance College Choral Union. Steven is not only a barbershop singer but also a barber at Off the Top Barbershop in Bryan.

Kristin Wendell, a Bluffton University and Marygrove College graduate, is in her 9th year of teaching at Defiance City Schools. She teaches general music for KinderStart through 5th grade at Defiance Elementary and has directed the Defiance Elementary Sign Choir since its start five years ago. Kristin is also active with the Fort Defiance Players and choreographs for the Kalida High School musical.

Steven and Kristin reside in Defiance with their daughter, Charlotte.

Seating is limited. Request table reservations by calling 419-783-2337 or completing the form electronically at www.defiance.edu/music. Each table seats eight, and there are no limits for purchasing tickets. Cost per ticket is $10, and this covers admission to the concert as well as various hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages. Ticket reservations will end on Wednesday, March 16, at 4:30 p.m.
