Bio
Todd completed his MA and PhD in American literature and film at Michigan State University. Prior to his time at Michigan State University, Todd worked as a reporter, copywriter, and librarian.

Todd has published on Joel and Ethan Coen's The Big Lebowski, Samuel R. Delany's Dhalgren, and Flann O'Brien's At-Swim-Two-Birds. He has a recent chapter in Peregrinations, Ruminations, and Regenerations: A Critical Approach to Doctor Who (2010). With Dr. Joseph Sommers, he edited Lost Loves: Alan Moore and the Ideology of a Sexual Revolution (McFarland, 2012). With Dr. Isaac Vayo, Todd is also editing a collection on Terror and the (Post) Cinematic Sublime. When he has time, Todd is slowly writing a book provisionally titled, Mourning, and the Day After, in which he argues for postmodern subjectivity as essentially riven by mourning.

Todd’s teaching and scholarly interests include: 20th Century British and American Literature(s), Postcolonial and Postmodern Culture, Literary Theory, Literature of the Americas, Disability Studies, Comics, and Film.

Todd advises the Anime-Manga Club, organizes the college lecture series, Dialoging in Defiance, and frequently organizes road trips to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Stratford, Ontario), New York City, and Chicago.
