Bio
Lenore Doctor is a footloose adjunct for Defiance College. After teaching English in several schools in Ohio and Indiana, she spent two years' leave of absence at Tarsus American College in Turkey. Since her retirement from the public schools in 1998 she has taught for the Gallup Catholic Diocese in Zuni, New Mexico, and St. Michaels, Arizona. Currently her teaching responsibilities include Global Civilization and Composition classes at Defiance College and Northwest State Community College. She has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, North Africa, and the Mediterranean region.
When she is in Defiance, she does volunteer work as a master gardener, a Red Cross volunteer, and works professionally as a homebound tutor. Because she tries to volunteer "somewhere else" for at least a month each year, she has recently lived in Alaska, Washington state, and North Carolina. This year she is hoping to do some music therapy for hospice with her mountain and hammered dulcimer.
