Arts and Humanities

The Arts and Humanities Division oversees a good part of the General Education Program that is required of students for the Baccalaureate degrees at Defiance College. Courses in Communication and Composition, Religious Studies, Art History and Art Appreciation, Performing Arts, and Literature and Visual Literacy are developed by the faculty of this division.

Global Civilization is a General Education program that is interdisciplinary. The faculty of the Arts and Humanities Division collaborate with members of the other four divisions of Defiance College, as well as with directors of the offices of Multicultural Affairs, Student Activities, and Spiritual Life, to provide an educational experience that enriches the lives of all of the students of Defiance College and allows them to share in the diversity of the world's cultures.
