Bio
Although his parents are originally from eastern Ohio, Professor Hall grew up in Virginia where his father was employed by the US Federal Government. Professor Hall has been teaching for 13 years, with most of those years at the university/college level, aside from a few forays into high school and teaching English in Japan. Professor Hall's research and scholarly interests include film and digital media (including video games), particularly looking at the various aspects of converging media. His dissertation - "'You've Seen the Movie, Now Play the Game': Recording the Cinematic in Digital Media and Virtual Culture" - looks at how digital media has established and affected the relationship between film and video games in terms of 1) economics, 2) aesthetics, and 3) narrative.
In addition to movies and video games, Professor Hall also writes about comic books, animation, and science fiction.
