Experience
Professor Robison has over 14 years of social work practice experience. She began her career working with developmentally disabled adults in a residential treatment center. Her volunteer experience at a domestic violence hotline led to fulltime work in a shelter as a counselor and Children's Program Director. After receiving her MSW degree, with a specialization and certification in school social work, Prof. Robison worked as a school social worker in the Chicago suburbs. She also has seven years of clinical practice experience as an outpatient therapist providing individual, marital and family counseling. Professor Robison was Program Director at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan for five years prior to becoming the Director of the Social Work Program at Defiance College in 2001. She teaches the following courses in Social Work: Introduction to Social Work, Interviewing, Practice I, Practice II, Social Policy and Applied Behavioral Science.
