Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Completing the FAFSA online can be done using an electronic signature or PIN (Personal Identification Number). Both the student and one parent must have their own PIN in order to sign the FAFSA electronically. Always keep your PIN number in a safe place. Your PIN is similar to having a security code to access bank account information.

Parents applying for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan are required to complete the MPN. The MPN is an agreement to repay loan funds the parent borrows on behalf of the student.
