Scheduling Procedures and Dates
This course schedule contains the course offerings for fall and spring semesters in 2009-2010. Scheduling is reserving a place in courses for the next semester. When you schedule you need to turn in course selections for both semesters. A scheduling sheet is provided. Schedules can be submitted to the Registrar’s Office, Serrick Center 204, any time after this schedule can be accessed on-line. Seniors and students, who are education majors, are encouraged to schedule during the first two weeks after scheduling begins in order to get into the courses needed for graduation. All students need to schedule no later than Friday, April 3 and schedules must be approved by the academic adviser.
Part-Time Student
Part-time students, who are not on campus during the day, may mail or email their schedules to the Registrar’s Office any time after accessing this roster of classes, but before April 3.
Completing Registration To attend class the Business Office must receive a signed billing statement with payment arrangements completed by the due date; regardless if you have a schedule change, zero balance, credit balance, or loans in process. Student bills are due and payable in full on or before August 1 for fall, and December 1 for spring. Bills may be accessed on www.defiance.edu through ONESTOP. Failure to meet this deadline may result in a $100.00 late fee.
Summer School
Students who plan to attend summer school at Defiance College and have not yet scheduled are requested to do so when scheduling for the next school year. Summer schedules are in the Registrar’s Office or on the College website.
Independent Study
Independent studies require the permission of the instructor, division head and provost. They cannot be added to a schedule until approved independent study forms are submitted to the Registrar’s Office. Forms can be obtained on the College website or in the Registrar’s Office.
Co-operative Education
Students must present the completed permission to register form obtained in the Career Services Office to schedule a co-op.
Deposit on Tuition due May 1
Students who will be full-time in fall 2009 are required to make a $150.00 deposit on tuition by May 1. Additional information about the deposit will be sent to students at local or on-campus addresses late March or early April.
Family RIghts and Privacy Act
All students have the right to request that the College withhold directory information from the public. Requests must be filed each year. More detailed information about the Privacy Act can be found in this booklet. Additional information and forms to withhold information for the 2009-2010 school year can be picked up in the Registrar’s Office or request that the form be mailed to the student.
Course Conflicts
Students should not schedule courses that conflict in time unless both courses must be taken in that semester. We will try to resolve conflicts after the scheduling period is over. Conflicts are only resolved between required courses in a major and not between courses that are desired but not required.
