Making Greek Life a part of your college experience can provide you with multiple benefits. From having a home away from home to having a study partner whenever you need one, Greek Life at Defiance College is built to balance the social with the academic. You can find an organization on campus that will fit who you are.


Mission Statement
The fraternity and sorority community utilizes continuous improvement that provides a complete quality undergraduate fraternity and sorority experience that builds community among all Greeks and that emphasizes our founding principles of: 

• Scholarship
• Service
• Leadership
• Brotherhood/Sisterhood

Membership
The Greek community at Defiance College includes one fraternity and two sororities. All full-time students with a minimum 2.2 GPA are eligible for membership into these chapters. Each chapter may have an individual GPA requirement higher than the established average. Potential new members are selected each semester by each individual chapter.

Fall Recruitment Week
Fall Recruitment is held around the begining of September. Recruitment Week is your chance to explore each organization on campus in an organized way. This formal recruitment week is held each fall.

To participate in recruitment you must register.  This allows us to have authorization to review your academic record as there are academic requirements for individual organizations.

Greek Week
Greek Week is held each spring.  Activities are planned throughout the week to allow Greek students to show their pride and recognize those students and organizations who have achieved excellence in the past year.

Scholarships
The Greek Community offers scholarships to two different leadership conferences.  The first opportunity is to attend the annual AFLV (Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values) conference and the second opportunity is to attend UIFI (Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute).  The programs are some of the most premier leadership experiences in the country and applications will be released throughout the year.

Inter-Greek Council
The Inter-Greek Council is the governing body of our Defiance College Greek community.  The meetings are held every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in Hubbard Hall Conference Room.  These meetings are open to all Greek members.
