Residents are required to leave 24 hours after their last exam or by noon on Thursday, May 3rd whichever comes first. All students are required to have an RA check out their room and survey their room for any damages before leaving.
Move Out Check List:
If not checking out during scheduled checkout hours make an appointment with an RA for a checkout date and time.
Remove all personal belongings. (Check the bathroom, laundry areas, drawers).
Remove all decorations from walls, windows, mirrors, and doors including any adhesive marks.
Be sure all residence hall furnishings (including beds, recycling bags, desk chairs, etc.) are accounted for and left in the room. There should be the appropriate number of items in your room (2 beds, 2 mattresses, 2 chairs, etc.).
All furnishings must be reassembled if they were disassembled. Your bed should be left bunked.
Restore your room to the condition it was when you checked-in, including moving furniture if needed.
Clean all floors, including underneath the beds. Sweep and/or mop when needed.
Clean all surface areas in your room (walls, desks, dressers, shelves, countertops, sink).
Clean all storage areas in your room (closets, dressers, desks, apartment kitchen cupboards).
Make sure window screens and blinds are in place.
Bring all trash and recycling to designated areas. DO NOT leave trash or sweep dirt into hallways or other public areas.
Return hall or common area inventory, i.e. broom, mop or vacuums, etc.
Apartments – clean kitchen (refrigerator, sink, oven and broiler pan) and bathroom.
Apartments – remove personal items from main lounge and return to original condition.
Meet with an RA to check your room, sign off on your Room Condition Report and hand in your keys.
If not returning, you must also turn in your parking pass, and student ID.
A $50.00 fine will be assessed to your student account if your room key is not turned in and a $25 improper checkout fine if they do not checkout with an RA.
Staying For Break
If you need to remain on campus until graduation, you must complete the Break Occupancy Agreement and turn it into the Office of Residence Life no later than Monday, April 30th, by noon. If you need to stay past graduation you will be asked pay summer housing costs. To sign up for summer housing you must fill out a summer housing application in the Office of Residence Life.
Unapproved residents found in the halls during the break will be required to leave immediately.
