Welcome to the Defiance community. You are about to embark on a new and exciting chapter in your life. Defiance College is committed to making this a positive and fulfilling experience. The next step for accepted students is to participate in Orientation 2010 - "It's Showtime!" to schedule your classes for Fall Semester.
We know that students who are just starting classes at the College have lots of questions - questions about the academic program, student activities on campus, housing, and support services. Orientation is designed to give you the answers to these and other important questions and to make your transition to Defiance College as smooth as possible. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend as well and will find an exciting program specifically tailored to meet their needs.
So, what’s this thing called Orientation?
Here’s a short, fun video to give you just a taste of what to expect when you arrive on campus to get “oriented!”
It's Showtime! Orientation Programs You will have the opportunity to meet with individuals from your academic area, schedule your classes for the fall semester, begin to build your individual strategic plan, meet new friends, and participate in a variety of activities and interest sessions. We highly encourage you to attend an early or summer orientation. Each session is limited to 50 students. For your convenience, you can select from these sessions:

All students are expected to attend one of the session dates. We will try to accommodate your first choice; however, enrollment is limited for each session. Assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. Just a reminder as a full-time student, your $150.00 tuition deposit must be paid before you attend orientation.
You will receive a confirmation letter upon receipt of your registration. Under special circumstances, a request to change dates may be honored; however, the request must be received a minimum of 10 days prior to the program and is subject to the availability of space.
Clips and Videos Commuters
Defiance is a home to the commuting student even though he/she leaves campus each day. It is especially important for the commuter student to participate in all events in order to meet other students and to learn about the resources available to all Defiance College students.
Soundtrack Transfer Students
As a transfer student, we understand you are familiar with college life but Defiance College is new to you. You will find programs that have been developed to help answer your questions and ease your transition to our campus. Please indicate your transfer status on the registration form.
The Script Parents and Guardians
Defiance College understands that your feelings are a mixture of hope and anxiety about your son or daughter's success at college. Orientation is meant to help ease your apprehensions by having you meet members of the admission, faculty, and student body. The program offers you the opportunity to discuss your child's academic and co-curricular pursuits. A special program, which runs concurrently with the students' program, has been designed to meet your needs. You'll have the opportunity to interact with people who share the same concerns.
Intermission Accommodations and Fees
Lunch and refreshments during the one-day Orientations will be provided at no cost to your and your parents/guardians.
Siblings
We encourage families to make arrangements at home for the care of siblings regardless of their age. Orientation is an event which requires full participation from parents and new DC students.
Special Accommodations
Support services are available for persons with disabilities. If you require special accommodations/services, indicate your needs on the registration form, or call the Office of Student Activities.
On Location Where to Stay in Defiance, Ohio
