A safe place to sort things out.
In the world of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) where everybody has an opinion and can find a soapbox for preaching, it helps to have a safe place to sort things out.
Knowing that ASD literature can range from credible to confusing to downright kooky, the Hench Program strives to offer a broad selection of credible materials through its library resource center.
In this room, students, parents, professionals, and ASD individuals will find print and electronic media resources that align with the National Autism Center's National Standards report on best evidence-based practices for individuals on the spectrum, including:
- Practical resources ranging from early intervention through adulthood
- Different programs and approaches for working with ASD, including ABA, TEACCH, Floortime, social stories, and dietary interventions
- Autobiographies and memoirs
- Fictional works
- Children's books
- A computer with high-speed internet access for online research
Browse, check out, and use the materials in this room. That is why they are here.
The sorting out begins here.
