Dr. Wayne 'Buck' Buchanan Professor of Business Administration

Bio
Buck Buchanan (Dr. Buck as his students call him) has more than 30 years experience in human resource management, fiscal administration, business development and consulting, and career mentoring. He has over 15 years professional and collegial experience, teaching beginning to advanced business degree courses at the undergraduate and graduate degree levels, creating and teaching career development programs, and facilitating training seminars and workshops in various business subjects.

He spent twenty-two years in the Navy as both an enlisted and as an officer. While on active duty, he earned his BA in Business Administration from National University, his MS in Administration from Central Michigan University. After retiring from the Navy, Buck received his PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. Along with Dr. John Cote, he co-founded the Capella Alumni Association.

Dr. Buck is a full-time associate professor (tenure track) and serves on various academic boards, committees, sponsored professional clubs, and associations. He is currently the advisor for the DC College Republicans, co-sponsor of SIFE as a Sam Walton Fellow, a past McMaster Fellow, and is involved in international studies and programs for Defiance College. He is also active in the community by serving on the boards of the Defiance County United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Defiance Community Cultural Council, Chinook Trails Condominium Association, and various initiatives at currently happening at DC.

He has the most comfortable chair on campus that students love to sit on while visiting with Dr. Buck.
