Marketing is a vital and pervasive activity within any successful organization. The marketing concentration equips students with the skills and competencies required to understand, create and maintain mutually beneficial exchanges between organizations and their customers. In addition to the strong general business foundation, students obtain valuable skills in a variety of other areas, such as Market Research, E-Commerce, and Advertising. A concentration in marketing prepares students for careers in a broad range of areas including; brand management, retail management, sales and advertising.

"It did not take me long to find out that Defiance College offered much more than a quality education; DC offered many activities on campus to take part in, and socialization with people from diverse backgrounds. I chose Marketing because I love the interaction with people. I like making people feel good about purchasing decisions and the satisfaction you feel when you make a sale. Marketing involves good communication skills, creativity, being persistent and following through; all which are my positive strengths. Defiance College assisted me with building on my strengths." -- Amy Ryan, Marketing
