CAP is a comprehensive center that focuses on the adult student population at Defiance College. Adult students are those over the age of 23 or whose life circumstances require them to schedule courses around full-time employment or family commitments. CAP provides services to students throughout their college experience -- from admission to graduation and beyond.
Adult Admission
To begin the admission process, contact a CAP advisor. Once you have contacted a CAP advisor, your advisor will guide you through the admission process to scheduling for courses.

New and Returning Student Orientation
The Center for Adult and Graduate Programs provides a special orientation for adult students that prepares you for being a student at Defiance College. This orientation is held on the Thursday evening and/or Saturday morning, before the start of the semester depending on the time of year.
Financial Aid
Although CAP does not calculate financial aid eligibility, we will assist you in completing the necessary financial aid paperwork. CAP will also act as a liaison between you and the financial aid office.
Academic Advising
CAP serves as the academic advisor for all undergraduate students enrolled in the Weekend College program and all adult undergraduate students enrolled in the business administration and accounting majors.
With 40 different majors at DC, students enrolled in a major outside of business will be given an academic advisor in their major. The Center for Adult and Graduate Programs will continue to assist with general degree questions and communication between you and your advisor.
The coordinator of the appropriate graduate program will advise students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program and the Master of Arts in Education program.
Registration Activities
Students can utilize the Center to schedule for classes, add and withdraw from courses, and pay bills. There is generally no waiting in line and many of these services can be completed over the phone.
The Center also handles student ID's, parking placards, and student campus computer access information.
Electronic Newsletter
The Center for Adult and Graduate Programs distributes a bi-weekly electronic newsletter, "The Buzz". This newsletter is delivered directly to your email account giving you the most up-to-date and important information on campus.
Student Liaison Program
Throughout the academic year, the Center for Adult and Graduate Programs relies heavily on a group of current students to assist us in a variety of ways. These students volunteer their time to assist adult students in succeeding with their education. If you would be interested in being a part of this program, please contact Cathy Mikula.
