Bio
TIM RICKABAUGH is a tenured Professor of Exercise Science who teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Exercise Science & MBA Programs with a special emphasis on exercise physiology and wellness & fitness programming. He has published diabetes and exercise research in both the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport & Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Recently, he had an article on undergraduate coaching leadership published in Strategies. Tim regularly attends national meetings of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) and has made numerous presentations on sport science issues.

Dr. Rickabaugh has been actively involved with student engagement and service learning at Defiance College. In recent years he has served as a faculty advisor and/or McMaster Associate Fellow on trips to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (2003), High Gate, Jamaica (2004 & 2008), and Phnom Penh, Cambodia (2005/06), Civil Rights Alternative Spring Break Tour (2009) and an Honors Student Trip to Western Europe (2010). Tim has served both as Associate Academic Dean for Student Success (2008-2009) and Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs/Academic Dean (2009-2011) working closely with the student retention and first-year experience programs.

Tim greatly enjoys being a husband (to Rosanne) and father (to Andrew and Abby), is an avid Indiana Pacer, Indianapolis Colts, and Ohio State Buckeye fan, and has served as a volunteer youth sport coach at the Defiance Area YMCA and for the Defiance Strikers Soccer Association. He also served as the head coach of the Defiance College Women’s Soccer Team from 1998 to 2002 and was selected Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2001.
