We welcome your interest in Defiance College. An admission counselor will be in contact with you throughout your admission process. If you apply online, we'll waive the application fee! A list of items you need to apply is on the online application form.

Start the Transfer Process Early
It is very important that you start the transfer process early! Even if you are just beginning your post-secondary education and do not plan to transfer to Defiance College for several years, it is never too early to begin. In fact, DC representatives can provide you with a suggested plan of study so you know exactly what courses to take at your current institution. This will ensure you transfer the maximum number of credits into Defiance College. A little bit of advanced planning helps you to make the most of your time and money!

Transfer Guides
Simply find the community college. Match the major with a Defiance College major and click for its transfer guide sheet. The transfer guide sheet will provide you with the courses required for your associate's degree at the selected college. The courses required for completion of the bachelor's degree at Defiance College are listed on the bottom portion.

Transfer Credit Evaluation
Defiance College can determine the transferability of your college course work even before you apply for admission. By sending us a transcript listing your completed courses, we can do a preliminary evaluation within two to three business days.

Transfer Process Checklist
Transfer students interested in enrolling full-time (12 or more credit hours per semester) should follow the Office of Admissions Transfer Process Checklist below.

_____ Visit Defiance College. This is the best way to experience DC and all it has to offer - and we'll waive your application fee! Call ahead so we can arrange your personal itinerary to include the people you need to see: admissions/financial aid, faculty in your major, an athletic coach if you wish, and a current DC student for a personal campus tour.

_____ Apply for Admission. There are three easy ways: by mail, on-line, in person.

1. By mail: Send us your completed application for admission, official high school and college transcripts, and the $25.00 application fee (remember it's waived if you visit).
   
   
2. On-line: Complete all parts of the application. Request official copies of your high school and college transcripts to be forwarded to the Office of Admissions. The $25.00 application fee will be waived since you are applying on-line.
   
   
3. In person: Bring your completed application for admission and official high school and college transcripts to the Office of Admissions.
   
   NOTE: Official transcripts are those sent to DC directly from the high school or college with an official seal or signature on the transcript.
   
   

_____ Transfer Credit Evaluation. After sending us your official high school and college transcripts, you will receive an evaluation in the Registrar's Office of the transfer credit awarded and how it applies to your selected major. Learn more
