Planning your college transfer is an important part of the college process and may save you time and money. Planning now will assist you in an easy, successful transfer. You are encouraged to submit your transcripts for evaluation and we will provide you with a course credit evaluation and a major evaluation showing you how your transfer credit applies to your chosen major and what courses you need to complete your degree. By completing this process you are well on your way to becoming a Defiance College student.

| Apply Online
If you apply online, we'll waive the application fee! Once you have completed an application, an official evaluation of your admission file will be completed and your acceptance status will be determined. However, you can request an evaluation of your official transcripts prior to completion of an application. Please note: All final official transcripts are necessary for an accurate evaluation.
Students interested in enrolling part-time (less than 12 credits per semester) should follow the checklist for the Center for Adult and Graduate Programs (CAP) found below. Students interested in enrolling full-time (12 or more credit per semester) should follow the checklist for the Office of Admissions.
_____ Visit Defiance College. This is the best way to experience DC and all it has to offer - and we'll waive your application fee! Call ahead or stop in the Center for Adult and Graduate Programs (CAP) to speak to a representative. Your CAP advisor will serve as your contact for information on: admissions/financial aid, employment reimbursement, registration, and review of transfer credit evaluation.
_____ Apply for Admission. There are three easy ways: by mail, on-line, in person.
- By mail: Send us your completed application for admission, official high school and college transcripts, and the $25.00 application fee (remember it's waived if you visit).
- On-line: Complete the entire application form and submit on-line. Request official copies of your high school and college transcripts be forwarded to the Center for Adult Programs Office. The $25.00 application fee will be waived since you are applying on-line.
- In person: Bring your completed application for admission, official high school transcript, and official college transcripts to the CAP office.
NOTE: Official transcripts are those sent to DC directly from the high school or college with an official seal or signature on the transcript.
_____ Transfer Credit Evaluation. Once your transcripts have been evaluated by the Registrar’s Office, meet with your CAP representative to discuss your transfer credit evaluation. Learn more
_____ Orientation and Registration. Make an individual appointment to schedule your classes and attend an Adult Student Orientation.
Deferred Payment Option:
Students who are eligible for tuition reimbursement benefits through their employer may be eligible to participate in the Deferred Payment Option (DPO), which allows partial or full tuition to be deferred until reimbursement is received.
