Summer Athletic camps



Program Dates
New for summer 2013: Defiance College is offering one 12-week summer term with multiple start and end dates of courses. The course section will assist you to determine the length of time your class will meet this summer. You may also find the dates on our online summer schedule at: http://www.defiance.edu/pages/catalog.html

SECTION “S” COURSES: 
Will meet all summer May 13 – August 3

SECTION “A” COURSES: 
Will meet the first 6-weeks of summer May 13 – June 21

SECTION “B” COURSES: 
Will meet the second 6-weeks of summer June 24 – August 3



Online Course Deadlines
At Defiance College our academic policy for online classes require that students are registered six (6) business days prior to the designated start date for the online course. Learn more

SECTION “S” COURSES: Registered no later than Friday, May 3rd
SECTION “A” COURSES: Registered no later than Friday, May 3rd
SECTION “B” COURSES: Registered no later than Friday, June 14th

Students are expected to log-into the course operating system for the online class on the day that the online class is scheduled to begin. Not logging into the course may result in administratively withdrawing the student based on failure to attend the course.




Enroll in a Summer Course



» First-time Students and/or Transfer Students

Degree seeking first-time students and/or transfer students must apply to the college.



» Transient Students/Visiting Student

Complete the Transient Student/Visiting Student Application Packet. The application includes a section to be filled out by the Registrar at a student's institution to certify that a student is in good standing and has permission to take courses at Defiance to transfer back to the student's home institution. Packet forms can be returned to the Registrar Office at Defiance College.

» Previously Enrolled at Defiance College
Former Defiance College students who have withdrawn from the College or who did not enroll in classes at Defiance College during the Spring 2013 semester must apply for re-enrollment PRIOR to scheduling for Summer 2013 classes.

  1. Complete Re-Enrollment Application Packet
  2. Have any official transcripts from each institution attended in the interim sent to the Registrar Office at Defiance College.

» Current Students Enrolled at Defiance College
Students in good standing during Spring 2013 semester are automatically eligible to schedule for summer classes. To schedule for classes, contact your advisor for course approval and submit your schedule to the Registrar’s Office, Serrick Campus Center Room 204.


» Non-Degree / Audit Students
Non-Degree / Audit students must complete a Non-Degree / Audit Application prior to scheduling for Summer 2013 classes. There is a separate application for undergraduate and graduate courses.

  • Undergraduate - Non-Degree / Audit
    • Students must have a high school diploma or equivalency and submit an official copy to the Registrar's Office before enrollment.

  • Graduate - Non-Degree
    • Students must have a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and submit any unofficial college transcripts to the Registrar's Office before enrollment.

Accreditation
Defiance College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Ohio Board of Regents, the Council on Social Work Education, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, and is in applicant status for accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The teacher education program has been reviewed and approved by the Ohio Department of Education using the teaching education standard of the National Council of Accreditation of Teacher Education.
