Tenzer Hall Renovation and Addition—$600,000
Defiance’s most historic building has been redesigned for the 21st century, critical to meet the demands of modern science. Third-floor renovations added classrooms and laboratories, including a forensic science lab that has raised the College’s academic profile. A new elevator and commons areas on all three floors connect Tenzer with the Carma J. Rowe Science Hall. This project has been completed to allow Defiance to take advantage of grant funding for scientific equipment.

McReynolds and Whitney Hall Renovations—$1,500,000
The on-campus residential community at Defiance College has the potential to broaden our students’ educational experience and can be the deciding factor in the decision to attend the college. Significant renovations are currently underway at Whitney and McReynolds halls, with design features to enhance appeal and support student learning and growth:
• New furniture throughout both facilities
• Computer labs
• Common study lounges
• Upgraded laundry facilities
• New paint, flooring, fixtures, and windows
A new residential facility is in the planning stage, to meet the demand for on-campus housing. The new hall will feature air-conditioned suites and singles, semi-private bathrooms, and incorporate a “lodge” design concept, providing unique spaces for engagement activities.
Field House—$3,500,000
The design for this approximately 84,000 sq. ft. facility features a 6-lane NCAA approved track with accommodations for pole vaulting, practice areas for all sports and an expanded fitness center that will promote campus-wide physical and social vitality.
