Part-time Faculty Positions
Teacher Education Clinical Supervisors
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas), and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master’s degree in education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. General Information for Part-Time Faculty Positions
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants must hold a master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant field and professional or teaching experience is desirable. Administrative Positions
Library Assistant
Defiance College invites applications for a Library Assistant. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs & Registrar, the individual will be responsible for monitoring library functions and student programming during the evening hours. Duties will include assisting library patrons, supporting library student employees that work evenings and weekends, performing maintenance of library collections, assisting with the Structured Study Program, and assisting with other key library services.
A bachelor’s degree is required for this position. The selected candidate will be service oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, demonstrate initiative and attention to details, and be able to communicate effectively with all constituents.

Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach
Defiance College, an NAIA institution and member of the WHAC located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for an Assistant Women’s Wrestling Coach.
The individual will serve as the primary assistant to the head coach and responsibilities will include: recruiting; match/practice planning and preparation; fundraising; assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete development and evaluation; academic monitoring; and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, NAIA, and WHAC policies and procedures.
A bachelor’s degree, previous coaching experience, and a valid driver’s license are required. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills, recruiting experience, and the ability to lead and serve our student-athletes. This is a full-time, 10-month position (August 1-May 31). Assistant Director for TRIO Student Support Services
Defiance College is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and empathetic professional to serve as our Assistant Director for TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). In this pivotal role, you will act as a key advisor, advocate, and coach for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students, including those with documented disabilities. You will help guide these students through their higher education journey, ensuring they have the resources, support, and encouragement to succeed. Responsibilities include: recruiting and retaining program participants; leading a summer bridge program; advising and coaching student participants; data tracking and analysis.
This is a 12-month, full-time, grant funded position. Applicants must have a master’s degree (any field) and experience in higher education; the ideal candidate will have academic advising and administrative experience. The Assistant Director will report to the TRIO Director and serve as part of the Academic Success Center at Defiance College. The position is available June 1, 2026. Graduate Assistant Positions
McMaster School Special Events & Programs Graduate Assistant
Defiance College is seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Assistant to serve as the Assistant Coordinator for Special Events and Programs that are hosted by the McMaster School for Advancing Humanity and the Institute for Career Readiness and Lifelong Learning. This role is ideal for a graduate student who is looking to gain hands-on experience in event planning, program coordination, and administrative support. The position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, with work hours scheduled between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Hours will vary for large events and will at times include evenings and weekends.
The Graduate Assistant will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and programs such as Constitution Day, Jacket Days, McMaster Symposium, Academic Colloquium, and others. Responsibilities will include coordinating event logistics such as venue reservations, catering, transportation and accommodations; event registrations; attendee communications; on-site event support; developing and distributing promotional materials; etc. Additional responsibilities will include providing administrative support and assisting in the evaluation and analysis of event outcomes and participant feedback.
The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, have strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
This is a two-year assistantship with a start date of August 3, 2026. The successful candidates must be accepted into the Defiance College graduate program in Education (MAE) or Business (MBA) and will be awarded a full graduate school tuition scholarship covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Retention Graduate Assistant
Defiance College seeks an individual to serve as Graduate Assistant for Retention within the Academic Support Center with responsibilities for supporting and helping with retention efforts and academic assistance initiatives. Primary duties of this position include academic coaching with identified at-risk students, managing student data to assist with the administration of initiatives that enhance the quality of the student academic experience, and providing online tutoring services through our eTutoring contract with the OhioLINK consortia. The Academic Support Center supports the educational mission of Defiance College by providing academic services to students in a hospitable and positive atmosphere where personal growth and academic improvement are nurtured, long-term success is supported, and learning is the priority, the goal of which is to help students develop skills and strategies for overall college success.
This is a two-year assistantship with a start date of August 3, 2026.
