Frequently Asked Questions
We are excited to introduce our new tuition reduction plan, the DEFIne your Future Program, which is aimed at making higher education more affordable and accessible. Here are some frequently asked questions to help you understand the details of this initiative:
Why is Defiance College implementing this program?
Our goal is to enhance affordability and accessibility to higher education. We believe that a high-quality education should be within reach for all students, and this tuition reduction is a significant step in achieving that goal.
What is the DEFIne your Future Program at Defiance College?
The DEFIne your Future Program at Defiance College is a tuition reduction initiative to help make education more affordable for all students. Beginning in the 2024-25 academic year, Defiance College tuition has been reduced by 25 percent, from $37,978 to $28,500.
Will this tuition reduction impact the quality of education at Defiance College?
Absolutely not. Defiance College is committed to providing excellent academic programs, and this reduction in tuition will not compromise the quality of education you receive. In fact, it allows us to further invest in our academic offerings and student support services.
How does this affect returning students?
We will be repackaging all financial aid packages, because we know a student’s cost is always dependent on a number of factors including family income, academic performance, and participation in activities. The first step for all students is to complete the FAFSA for the 2024-25 school year beginning in December. Financial Aid packaging for returning students takes place in the Spring after registration. In the meantime, students and families should contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss their personal financial situation at 419-783-2364 or financialaid@defiance.edu.
When will this tuition reduction come into effect?
The reduced tuition rate will be effective for the 2024-25 academic year.
Are there any changes in scholarships or financial aid?
Scholarships and financial aid will still be available to eligible students. Decisions regarding your eligibility for these programs will be dependent on your FAFSA filing, as noted above.
