FACULTY POSITIONS
Assistant Professor of Chemistry
Defiance College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor
of Chemistry. We are looking for a passionate and committed teacher-scholar that can
easily move between introductory and upper-division chemistry courses. Responsibilities
include a 12-credit per semester teaching load focused on a variety of courses that
include General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Analysis, and Forensic
Science, among others within the applicant’s area of expertise. The position duties
also include academic advising; assisting with program leadership and curriculum development;
committee work; and service to the college.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in chemistry or a closely-related field; ABD will be considered. Assistant Professor of Digital Media
Defiance College invites applications for a full time, tenure track position in the
Department of Communication Studies specializing in digital media production in the
following areas: video production, social media, media writing, and video editing.
Experience with commercial production or podcasting is welcome. This program is intended
to teach students to use technology to communicate through various media.
Preferred candidates will have a terminal degree or advanced ABD status in media and communication or a related field. Candidates with a master’s degree will be considered only with significant professional experience in digital media production. Rank and tenure track consideration are commensurate with education and experience. The teaching load is twelve credits per semester. Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Defiance College is accepting applications for a full-time,
tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology. Ideal candidates will have a passion

Assistant Professor of Physics
Defiance College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics. Responsibilities include a
12credit per semester teaching load in introductory level courses in Physics (Calculus
and non-Calculus based) and in the applicant’s area of expertise for General Science
and Engineering Students. The position duties also include academic advising; assisting with program leadership

Applicants must have a Doctorate in Physics or a related field; advanced ABD will be considered. Applicants with experience teaching college physics are desirable. The successful candidate must be a committed educator with previous teaching experience in higher education with evidence of effectiveness in teaching; the desire to develop an undergraduate research program; and the ability to be enthusiastic about working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. Experience and commitment to excellence in mentoring undergraduates in engineering programs will be valued. Familiarity with new technology and a willingness to incorporate technology into the classroom and laboratory are strongly desired. Marketing Faculty
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time Assistant Professor
of Marketing with the possibility of a tenure track appointment. Responsibilities
include a 12 credit per semester teaching load that focuses on a variety of business
courses that include introductory and advanced courses. Preference for specialization
is marketing. The position also includes academic advising, assisting with program
leadership and curriculum development, committee work, and service to the college.
The college is accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business
Education.
The successful candidate must have a completed MBA. For consideration on the tenure track, a doctorate in a field pertinent to Business is required and ABD candidates considered. Computer Science Faculty
Defiance College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty member
who is interested in an exciting opportunity to help maintain the Computer Science
program and work closely with the Cyber-Forensic and Computer Science programs. Responsibilities
for this position include a 12-credit per semester teaching load; academic advising;
committee work; assisting with program leadership and curriculum development, and service to the college and the wider community. Courses taught can include those
within the area of Computer Science, Cyber Security and/or Cyber Forensics. The selected
candidate will be teamed with experienced Cyber-Forensic, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity
faculty and the position will involve significant teamwork and collaboration with
faculty in the partner programs. Successful candidates should be versatile, adaptable
and prepared to learn while teaching.
Preferred candidates will have a terminal degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Cyber-Forensics, or related field or ABD status. Those with a master’s degree will be considered for a non-tenure track renewable contract full-time position at the rank of assistant professor. Preference will be given to candidates with significant real-world software solution experience, technical knowledge and higher education teaching experience.

Assistant Professor of Sport Management
Defiance College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track professor of Sport
Management. Responsibilities include a 12-credit per semester teaching load of undergraduate
courses on campus and potentially graduate courses on-line. Areas of expertise sought
to help students learn include: Sport Sociology, Event & Facility Management in Sport,
Sport Leadership, Sport Fundraising, and other areas to help propel students successfully
into the sport industry. Sport Management is among the largest majors on campus and
students leave Defiance College with experiential knowledge that readies them for
the sport industry. Faculty teach 12 credits per term. The position duties also include academic advising; assisting with program leadership

Assistant Professor of Teacher Education
Defiance College’s Teacher Education Program is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Special Education at the rank of Assistant
Professor. At Defiance College, faculty members will engage in a private, liberal
arts environment with an emphasis on teaching, advising, and service. Responsibilities include a teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester. Within the Teacher Education Program, additional responsibilities include supervision of candidates in practicum and student

An earned doctorate is required; advanced ABD will be considered. TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher
education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student
teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include
early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas),
and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required
to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training
sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12
schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred.

Head Women’s Basketball Coach
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference, seeks qualified applicants for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
The individual will be responsible for the total operation of the women’s basketball
program including, but not limited to: recruiting, managing the team, budget management,
scheduling, fund raising, equipment control, game/practice management, development
of a service learning/engagement project for student-athletes, academic monitoring,
mentoring assistant coach, and other duties normally associated with being the head
coach of an intercollegiate women’s basketball program or as assigned. Additional
expectations of this position may include game administration duties, and some departmental
and campus committee work/involvement.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), previous intercollegiate
women’s basketball coaching and recruiting experience (preferably at a D-III institution),
and a valid driver’s license. Applicants should demonstrate success as an energetic

Athletic Director
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference,
seeks qualified applicants for the position of Athletic Director. Reporting to the
President, the Athletic Director is responsible for the overall management of a comprehensive
intercollegiate athletics program designed to foster the growth and development of
individual student-athletes competing in the sixteen NCAA sports programs at Defiance
College. The Athletic Director serves as the chief athletic officer and is accountable
for the overall operation of the athletic department to include planning, organization,
administration, fundraising, and evaluation of all aspects of the College's NCAA Division
III athletic program to ensure compliance with conference and NCAA regulations. This
position requires significant personnel supervision that includes mentoring and helping
coaches recruit successfully.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and/or abilities in the following areas: written and oral communication, leadership and supervision, budgeting, creative approaches and problem solving, recruitment, and NCAA compliance. A Bachelor’ degree in a relevant field is required (Master’s degree preferred), as is prior relevant experience in a collegiate athletic department, preferably in NCAA Division III.

Assistant Athletic Trainer
Defiance College seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Defiance College is affiliated
with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and sponsors 20 intercollegiate
athletic teams. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer
in athletic health care management and medical coverage for NCAA sponsored intercollegiate
athletic teams and events at Defiance College. The individual will be assigned specific
coverage for two intercollegiate teams but will cover other sports and events as needed.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: coverage of practices, games, and events and traveling with teams to provide coverage at off-campus contests; assisting in daily ATR operations, including injury evaluation, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation; recordkeeping and documentation; work with local medical providers and team physicians to coordinate referrals for injuries; and providing counseling and education to student athletes.
Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (master’s preferred), have current NATA BOC certification, be licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio OT/PT/AT, and have previous athletic training experience, preferably in a higher education environment.

Men’s Soccer Coach. Under the direction of the Head Coach, responsibilities will include

projects for student-athletes, practice planning and preparation, scheduling, assisting
head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring,
